• An application by Massey Carriers Ltd, of Salford, to add two trailers to a current B licence was granted by the North Western deputy LA, Mr A. H. Jolliffe, in Manchester on Tuesday. There was one objector, BRS Ltd.
Mr J. A. Backhouse, for Massey Carriers, said that since another local cornpany, which was running eight vehicles, had gone out of business, the demand upon them for work had become too great. Mr A. Cusick, director of Massey Carriers, said that as they were employed mainly by importers and exporters, their work was at present centred around the docks.
