1923 Records of a Prominent 'Lancashire Coaching Company.

THE members of the Institution of Electrical Engineers who attended the annual summer conference held at Manchester during the week ended Jung 9th, afforded some big privateparty work for the coach owner, not only in Manchester, but in North Wales. One Llandudno company provided a largo number of Thornycroft 28-seater coaches for the ( onveyance of the party from Llandodno to the North Wales Power Co.'s station.

The Lancashire United Tramways, Ltd., conveyed a big party in 13 or 24 coaches and buses from Manchester to the works of the Chloride Electrical Storage Co., Ltd., at Clifton Junction,

and our illustration shows a group of the vehicles in front of the Manchester Town Hall; .four • new Strachan and Brown bodies, which the company have recently fitted on Bristol and Dennis chassis,'are to be seen. The coaches owned by the L.U.T. Co. are mostly Dennis 28-seatersi About tale same time Avery and Roberts, Ltd., the Liverpool agents of the L.U.T. Co. were clearing a party of 700 people (employees of-Messrs. 'Walker and Cain, who were on pleasure bent for Blackpool. The whole of the plateau of St. George's Hall, Liverpool, was occupied with coaches. This was the biggest party which has left Liverpool this season. Only a fewdays previous the L.U.T. Co. conveyed another party of 700 persons, employees of Messrs. Higgins, from Liverpool to Blackpool.
