Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

POLICE AND UK Border Agency (UKBA) oficials are having a busy month thwarting stowaways from entering the UK in the back of lorries.

On 2 July a Polish-registered LGV was searched at Calais, and oficers found six clandestines – two Iraqis and four Iranians – hiding among a lorry-load of car parts destined for Banbury, Oxon. On the same day, also at Calais, a further ive stowaways were discovered by sniffer dog Wills hidden in a Bulgarian lorry heading for Wigan.

The men, three from Syria, one from Pakistan and one from Kuwait, were handed over to French border police and the vehicle was allowed to continue its journey.

Meanwhile, in Hampshire, four people were discovered concealed in a compartment under a lorry at Portsmouth international port. Two men and a woman from Eritrea and a man from Sudan were handed over to UKBA oficials. The 40-year-old male lorry driver and his 38-year-old female passenger were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences, but later released without action.

And in Faversham, Kent Police conirmed that eight people had been arrested and handed over to UKBA oficials when they were discovered hiding in a lorry.
