Conditions for Hollander Hyams

OWN-ACCOUNT OPERATOR Hollander Hyams has been granted permission to run three vehicles at a new operating centre at Home Farm, Wynnstay Estate, Park Road, Wrexham, subject to new undertakings:

l safety inspections will be planned and never more than four weeks apart. The preventive maintenance inspection reports will be fully and properly completed, show rectiications and be retained for at least two years, even if a vehicle is sold or scrapped; l there will be a nil defect daily driver reporting system. Defect reports will show rectiication and all reports will be retained for at least two years; l the operator will undertake a random audit of at least one driver a week to ensure drivers are undertaking their walk-round checks correctly. The indings will be recorded and made available to staff from Vosa or the ofice of the TC on request; l all authorised vehicles will have a rolling road brake test every six months, including the MoT. The results will be recorded and kept for at least two years, even if the vehicle is sold or scrapped; l all authorised vehicles will have a thorough and effective pre-MoT inspection. Records to be kept for at least two years, even if the vehicle is sold or scrapped; l all newly acquired vehicles – unless less than 12 months old at the time of purchase – will undergo an annual test before irst being used on the road, unless a pass certiicate not more than 30 days old is in existence; l all vehicles newly acquired will undergo a preventive maintenance inspection and be signed off as roadworthy before irst being used on the road.

AINSWORTH AND MARTIN has got the go-ahead for 30 vehicles and 30 trailers at a unit on the Moorield Industrial Estate in Burnley Road, Altham, Accrington.

NR EVANS AND SON is looking for permission to base 70 vehicles and 80 trailers at the Dairy Crest site on the Hilton Business Park in Egginton Road, Hilton, Derby.

FORTHCOMING PUBLIC INQUIRIES North Western and Welsh traffic areas Warrington

l A public inquiry on 20 July will look at disciplinary action against Oldhambased KL Transport. The transport manager’s repute will also be on the agenda. In addition the TC will consider a new application from the firm.

l Disciplinary action against Warrington-based Jordan Timber will be under consideration at a hearing on 23 July.

l John Thompson and Tessa Anne Wigham trading as JT and TA Wigham, based in Carlisle, will be up before the TC on 23 July at a disciplinary hearing.

l Liverpool-based Glenn Freight (North West) is due to appear at a disciplinary inquiry on 17 September. The repute of the transport manager will also be on the agenda.

Wrexham

l At a PI in 19 July the TC is due to consider disciplinary action against Dyfed Jones based in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll.

l On 19 July an inquiry will consider taking disciplinary action against WJ Roberts and Sons (Llandudno) based in Llandudno Junction. At the same time the TC will also look at the repute of the transport manager.
