I HAVE JUST read about the Safer Urban Driving Course (CM

5 July) and I am writing to say that I am dismayed.

It is not the commercial drivers who need this course, but the general public, who think that the Highway Code is there for everybody but them.

If the pedestrians and cyclists, both read, understood and obeyed the law, then there would be no need for a Safer Urban Driving Course.
