Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

GOODYEAR HAS launched a range of truck tyres under its new Max Technology banner. The tyres have been shown to set performance standards in independent testing.

The technology incorporates high silica-content tread compounds. tread designs and carcass construction.

It is available for several applications including regional and long-haul steer and drive configurations (branded as Goodyear Regional RII II and Marathon LH II).

German testing company TUV found that when compared to the equivalent Michelin, the RH 11 steer tyre had 13% better rolling resistance and 14.9% better wet braking.

The Marathon LH tyre also came off better overall against the Michelin and is claimed by Goodyear to reduce annual fuel costs by nearly £1.000 for a 40-tonne truck covering 100,000 miles a year. Another notable innovation is Goodyear's AirMax front-axle tyre, born out of demand for increased engine ancillaries and extra cab equipment. It has a wider-than-average design allowing for more air volume and therefore an 800kg increase in axle capacity as well as 15% more mileage.

The design is also claimed to offer less stiffness, improving cab comfort, vehicle durability and load security.
