• Barnsley-based NMI Truck Bodies has countered the continuing downturn in tipper manufacturing by increasing its involvement in the insulated/refrigerated sector.
Its latest order is for 11 chilled transport vehicles from Applied Distribution for its contract with the supermarket group, Gateway.
The 7.9m bodies use 100mm Dawnpress GRP/ply panels and have aluminium frames, floors and scuff plates. Provision is made for a freezer unit to be fitted at a later date.
A Henderson insulated wide-slat shutter door forms the rear entrance and loading is via the one-tonne Ross & Bonnyman tail-lift.
