Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• We have noticed that your report on the British Army Equipment Exhibition has wrongly attributed a suspension to our sister company (CM 13-20 June).

The suspension shown in the photograph at the top left-hand corner of page 24 has been designed and patented by the Defence Equipment Division of Rubery Owen Group Services.

It was designed for a specialist high mobility role and as such is a walking beam suspension with compliance provided via a central torsion bar, the ends of which are reacted through the leading and trailing arms.

The Defence Equipment Division of Rubery Owen Group Services has been in existence for 36 years during which time it has provided various military designs which have included capstan winches, recovery equipment and a variety of MoD orientated trailers. The Defence Equipment Division holds AQAP 1 Edition 3 Certification. We are prepared to carry out design consultancy work.

R J C Oakes, Manager, Defence Equipment Division, Rubery Owen Group Services, Wednesbury, West Midlands.
