Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• You recently published a letter from me under the headline "Bowles blasted" (CM 7-13 June). This was my reply to Roy Bowles comments as RHA chairman, regarding standards.

Marsham Street obviously read CM. Since the letter appeared, we at Heathrow appear to have been subjected to daily MoT traffic police checks.

OK I'm not complaining, despite the delays (why do they stop so many just to have a long queue?). But why do they not always check tachos? At Heathrow they also appear, always, to target smaller operators (my experience tells me own-account operators have problems too).

Do not use a tilt type trailer! Not if yours is an illegal operation! They really do target these types of vehicles.

Come on DTp/police, stop trucks at random and play fair. David Holmes, Holmes of Heathrow, Twickenham, Middlesex.
