• Merseyside Ambulance Service is to replace its entire frontline emergency fleet with 43 new Ford ambulances worth more than Lim. The 2.9-litre vee-six Transits have been coach-built by Wadharn Stringer for use by teams of paramedics. Merseyside has transferred low mileage ambulances to outpatient work, and has sold the remainder.
