• After 19 years as its assistant secretary, Fred Offord has been promoted to company secretary of Eastern National Omnibus at Chelmsford.
He began his career in the industry in 1938 with Lincolnshire Road Car, returning to them after war service. In 1965 he was appointed assistant secretary of Cumberland Motor Services, before joining Eastern National.
