Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An American computerised analyser for petrol engines, which has been adopted for use by General Motors dealers in the United States, is now available in this country from a newly-formed company, Allen Diagnostic Equipment (UK).

The new company initially intends to market imported versions of the R11,500 Allen Computer Test Center in this country, but general manager Bob Kennard expects to begin manufacturing the system in Britain soon.

The Allen Computer Test Center records the results of a 22 point visual test, undertaken by the system's operator. before beginning a 138 test diagnostic sequence, which is explained to the operator on a built-in video screen.

All test results can be printed out of an internal printer, including oscilloscope readings. At the end of each test sequence, the Center will print out two sets of de

tails, one for the test operator and one for the van or car owner.

Virtually every petrol vehicle engine used in Britain is detailed in the Center's memory. However, there arc no plans to offer a diagnosis option for diesel engines.

Allen Diagnostic Equipment has already sold 25 Centers in this country, including one to Vauxhall and one to Ford for use at their production centres.
