Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Key-controlled electric starting is now standard on Primrose fixedbeam (four-legged) gantry cranes. The 1.5-tonne and 2-tonne capacity models now have a 12V battery plus a starter/generator motor connected to the unit's four-stroke petrol engine by a vee-belt drive. The engine is cranked by the motor, but once engine speed reaches a predetermined level the motor reverts to an engine-driven generator to recharge the battery and supply power for other electrical equipment such as floodlights.
