Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

JUST published by Commercial Motor is a 30-page CM-size book designed to answer many of the questions which we receive week by week from operators and would-be hauliers. It comprises reprints of articles published in CM on such subjects as setting up a costing system; applying for an 0 licence; preparing for an 0 licence public inquiry; the safe loading ot vehicles; the legal obligations for maintaining vehicles and keeping maintenance records; the work of a traffic office; and budgetary control of operating costs.

The book is entitled What a Haulier Needs to Know, but much of its information and advice is applicable too to own-account operators; and all of it is in simple, easily understood terms.

It is difficult for anyone to keep up with the constant additions and changes to transport law but one chapter "The Law and where to find it" provides an excellent basis for doing so: it lists the main transport legislation by title, names some ugeful legal books and suggests sources of guidance and information on transport law.

The book is obtainable price 65p post free from IPC Business Press, asset out in the panel below.
