Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

by CM reporter A SCANIA LBT 140 Super 6x4 tractive unit up-plated from 70 to 110 tons gross train weight was a striking exhibit at last week's Great Yorkshire Show, at Harrogate.

This vehicle was one of a large display of Scania models by B and W Motors and was in the livery of Flockton Plant Hire, of Flockton, Yorks. No particular changes had to be made for operation at this weight, but the manufacturer limits speed to 28mph at 110 tons, This model has the V8 engine, 10-speed rangechange box and twin-plate 356 mm (14 in clutch). Another Scania more interesting than outward appearances suggested was a 6x2 rigid for Brian T. Hewitt, of Antrobus, with a wood-floored alloy platform body by Davidson, of Kirkby, Liverpool. This 24-' ton-gvw truck (weighing about 8 tons unladen) was suitable for 32 tons gtvv-, since it was all piped up for drawbar trailer haulage. This had not been specially requested by the operator but is a result of B and W's policy of specifying drawbar air piping on all Type 85 six wheelers it is much cheaper as a factory option. With all piping and wiring already in place, the vehicle can be converted to drawbar operation at a price of around £160.

Among other commercial vehicles on show at Harrowgate was a Foden eightwheeler with Thynne light alloy tipping body (not drawing such big crowds as the 1916 "Pride of Edwin" steamer on the same stand) and a wide range of Fords and Chryslers. On the latter company's stand the 32-ton Dodge tractive unit and several Commer Commandos were centres of haulage interest.

Hargreaves Clearwaste Services showed an AEC Marshal with a new Rolonof 2,600gal demountable tank.
