Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Port of Felixstowe police are threatening to fine drivers 250 if they leave their trucks or trailers unattended overnight at the port.

Since 1 January, the police have warned hauliers that their vehicles will be clamped if they have not been given permission to leave their vehicles for the night.

Truck drivers can still leave their units unattended while they go to the canteen or to an agent's office. And in exceptional instances drivers may get permission from a terminal manager to leave their trucks at the port at night.

RHA area manager David Orrell welcomes the move, which he says will help stop parked trucks from clogging the path of others. The port is implementing the idea in a bid to stop being held liable for any theft from or damage to the trucks.
