borne its first fruit: the VW Taro pickup. The one-tonne Taro produced by VW is a licence-built Toyota Hilux with an all-Japanese powertrain. VW plans to build 7,500 4x2 Taros and Hilux pickups at its Hanover plant during 1989 in both diesel and petrol versions. For details see our Brussels show report on Page 46.
