Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QI control 43 drivers and most nights I go to bed with a headache: half of the drivers disagree with the other half on the interpretation of how to take their 15-minute breaks.

I would imagine that there are many managers in my position. I know that the police and ministry don't agree with each other and that there will be a High Court ruling, but until then what do I tell my drivers to do?

Also, we have our tachographs analysed by a larger computer bureau, but how do we know their interpretation is correct?

DM, Doncaster AUntil the courts decide, I suggest you err on the side of caution and tell your drivers to take 15-minute breaks after every period of 11/2 hours' driving or accumulated 11/2 hours; or to take 45 minutes after 41/2 hours' driving or accumulate hours.

As far as your tachograph analysis is concerned, you have to hope that the people writing the software for the computer analysis are clued up.
