• Transfleet has won a 22.5 million deal to run a Scottish council's 77-vehicle transport operation (CM 22 December). The company is buying Nithsdale District Council's entire fleet of 60 vehicles and, together with another 17 new trucks, is leasing them back to the Borders authority.
Transfleet is also taking over the council's maintenance depot in Dumfries, which will also house a truck rental outlet for the company, its 22nd.
Transfleet has already signed six local authority contracts in the South. This deal, which begins on 1 April, includes maintenance and servicing.
Transfleet's other public service contracts are with Woking, Runnymede, Three Rivers, Hammersmith and Fulham, Hinkley and Bosworth and South Bucks.
