of changes to its replica vans after Commercial Motor's criticisms of the steering weight, and headlamps, which flapped around.
The steering system has been completely redesigned on the Ford Transit-based replica vehicles, with the Ford steering box mounted further forward in the chassis. This reduces the length of the drop arm from the steering box, and so, claims the manufacturer, reduces the steering effort needed. No type approval (TA) tests were needed for the changes, but as the equivalent to TA (the TUV system) will be needed for German markets, the system will be tested anyway.
The headlamps on the vehicles are now mounted on the front wing, between the radiator and the wing, using specially designed mounting brackets, which, says the manufacturer, are a great improvement on the original mountings.
