turf to customers with this specially developed all-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz 1617A1C. The 16.8-tonne vehicle is equipped with a 6.4m aluminium platform body, providing a payload of at least 1.0 tonnes, corresponding to between 1,200 and 1,300 turves.
Walsall-based Henry Boys and Son modified the vehicle, extending the wheelbase from 3.6m to 4.32m, and fitting 18R-19.5 wide single tyres on the rear axle. Both front and rear tyres have "self-cleaning" high traction tread patterns.
