GLC transport commute chair Dave Wetzel visited Sp talfields fruit and vegetabl market in the City of London o a dawn raid to reassure trader: porters and customers that th GLC is aiming only to help th markets.

In the meantime, the Roa Haulage Association has adde its support to Transport Secr€ tary Nicholas Ridley's plan t call a public inquiry into th effects of the proposed ban o lorries over 16.5 tonnes.
