MAIDSTONE Borough Council is the only remaining municipal operator on the City Flyer coach service which used to operate between Blackpool and Dover.
The service started as a joint operation of the transport undertakings of Burnley and Pendle, Maidstone and Leicester.
The present daily service links Maidstone with Huddersfield, Todmorden and Halifax via London Kings Cross.
The Dover/Maidstone and Todmorden/Blackpool sections have been suspended for the winter.
City Flyer is now a joint operation between Maidstone and Abbeysways-Ivesway, of Halifax.
