BUSES AND COACHES hal lost out where bicycles hal gained from a drop in tE volume of private car traff last year.
Provisional traffic volutr figures released by the Di partment of Transport sho that there was a 1.3 per cei drop in bus and coach traffic i the second quarter of 197 against the same period i 1978.
This compared with a on per cent drop in overall traffi volume, and 1.5 per cent in cE and taxi traffic.
But the big gains have bee made by two-wheeled tram port. There was a six per cer rise in motorcycle traffic, an pedal cycle traffic rose by 3. per cent.
These changes came at time when fuel prices in som areas rose by 50 per cent OVE the third quarter of 1978.
