THE UNITED Biscuits Group has formed its distribution operations into a separate company, UB Distribution Services Ltd, as an extension to general decentralisation within its trading companies.
Bob Selkirk, formerly distribution director, is managing director of the new company. He told CM that the reorganisation would allow UB Distribution Services to take on contracts from companies outside the group.
The company has already won a contract to distribute frozen foods for Marco and Carlo, a company within the group which previously used Christian Salvesen.
