Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

inform me if I need to modify the brakes to comply with the C and U Regulations 1967: No. 1288 and what will be my permitted load with or without modification?

AYou will require brake modification to

this tractive unit if it is to be operated at the gross weight for which it was designed.

Without modification Ford puts a gross train weight limit (tractive unit, trailer and load) of 10 tons on this outfit. But with modification with a kit according to the type of brake system fitted, this limit is increased to 15 tons 12cwt with diesel engine or 14 tons 6cwt with petrol engine.

As we do not know the unladen weight of your artic we cannot state the load you will be able to carry but it should be a simple sum to work out the figures from the gross weight just quoted.
