WHILE most of the transport industry was working to beat the chaos caused by the snow last week, engineers at BMC welcomed the conditions as a heaven-sent opportunity. It gave them the chance to try out equipment they will be using later this month on a Lapland trip to carry out extreme-cold vehicle tests.
In the picture Stan Dews, director, commercial vehicle design, is at the wheel of a 1160FJ which will be put through the tests, and suitably rigged out for the conditions are (left) Ron Clark, chief tester of BMC and Charles Griffin, director and chief engineer.
