Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THREE 20ft general-purpose freight containers built to a completely new design to give virtually unrestricted access along both sides as well as at the rear end have just been produced for MAT Transport Ltd., by the Duramin Engineering Co. Ltd. The units comply fully with BS requirements and the proposed ISO recommendations, and have TIR and UIC certification.

Overall dimensions are 19ft 10.5in. long by 8ft wide by 8ft high, giving internal dimensions of approximately 19ft 5in. long by 7ft 5.625in. wide by 7ft 0.375in. high. Four rubber-sealed doors are provided along each side of the containers, each set being hinged in two pairs to give completely unrestricted side openings measuring 17ft I0.5in. long by 6ft 7.375in. high. The centre doors on each side are arranged to hinge back over the end doors, which in turn fold back on special Duraniin double-acting hinges to rest against fixed panels at the rear and front of the containers.

Framework is in high-yield steel, with high-strength aluminium alloy intermediate sections, while the base frame is formed in folded steel sections with steel channel cross-members.

With a gross rating of 20 tons and an unladen weight of only 2 tons 11 cwt, these new containers will carry a distributed floor load of up to 17 tons 9cwt.
