THE International Chamber of Commerce has decided to back the IRU's protests against new limitations on road goods transport, particularly in France and Germany. It is convening a meeting in Paris on March 20 to tell the business community of its concern and to make a public stand against any transport policies which might damage international trade.
Specifically, the Chamber of Commerce is supporting the IRU's resolution which, among other things, opposes the Leber plan to switch long-distance traffic in Germany on to rail, and the new French axle taxes.
