GOOD results are being reported b) officials of the Transport and General Workers' Union in their campaign to step up recruitment among road haulage workers. The campaign, launched last month, is aimed specifically at commercial transport workers and those who maintain and service the vehicles.
It is backed by a special four-page recruiting broadsheet, headed "Union on the Move", which emphasizes the point that "modern road hazards spotlight need for T.G.W.U. protection ".
It calls on non-unionists to join the Union in order to back the campaign for higher wages, longer holidays, shorter hours and improved sick and pension schemes.
