DUMFRIES AND Galloway haulier Hayton Coulthard Transport has taken delivery of 25 Euro-5 Volvo PHs, and will take on its first Euro-6 model next month. The company, a joint venture 50% owned by Hayton Coulthard Transport and 50% by Gregory Distribution and Kay Transport parent GDL Holdings, has a fleet of about 70 vehicles, all of which carry its tartan trim livery — supplied by Cumbria-based vinyl wrap firm AstSigns
The operator has a long-term relationship with Volvo. Half the delivery is fitted with power take-off equipment for use with its movingfloor trailers, while the remainder will pull a variety of refrigerated, curtainsider and platform trailers.
MD Duncan Coulthard said: "We've opted for the rear-lift axles as we carry out a lot of farm deliveries, where good traction and manoeuvrability is vital."
