• Blockades in France, Austria and Greece have not exactly made drivers' lives easy on the Continent recently, but most are making do as best they can.
Philip Judge, a driver for Peter Gilder, was facing the prospect of Christmas in Greece with a gloomy heart last week, hut at least he had a full stomach.
Food is so difficult to come by in Azerbaijan, his destination, that he routinely stocks up with it before he leaves Britain. This at least gave him something to eat while he waited for the Greek farmers who had blocked the roads.
"We're all pretty fed up," he said.
