Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The continued restructuring at the UK's largest haulage firm NIFC appears to be bearing fruit after the group announced a 39% increase in profits. In the year ending on 30 September, the company increased turnover by 12% on the previous year to nearly .C2.5bn and saw profits rise to .C105m.

The group's turnover and profits were increased by its new brewery concern Tradeteam and its acquisitions, particularly Spanish final Cedes Logistica. But even if these are stripped out of the calculations, underlying turnover still rose by 5%.

NFC's business in continental Europe saw an average 20% increase in turnover but recorded losses of £8.51n: reduced from .C1Om last year.

Chief executive Gerry Murphy, who has overseen the restructuring, says the group is now aiming to concentrate on winning dedicated logistics contracts for individual companies.
