• Volvo is to introduce a PC-based diagnostic system for vehicles equipped with electronic diesel control (EDC). The PC will connect directly to the vehicle's electronic control unit (ECU).
The system will back up the existing on-board fault code system and removes the need for a multimeter, which should speed up fault finding. Once connected to the ECU the system will interpret the fault codes stored in it and display the problem on-screen. it will then take the technician through a logical process to trace the cause of the fault.
