• The General Accident insurance company has developed a training package designed to reduce the number of workshop accidents.
How you can reduce the workshop risk builds on the video produced last year with a manual and posters which highlight the dangers involved with welding, painting and using electrical equipment.
We see the claims for deaths and injuries in workshop accidents, and for subsequent loss where a trader's premises is destroyed by fire, says the company. It also says that many of these accidents are avoidable, and that doing so would help keep insurance premiums down.
Free copies of the package are being sent to GA's motor trade policy-holders; non-GA policy holders can buy copies from GA offices for £20 (ex-VAT). Copies of the video are still available at MO (ex-VAT).
