TRANSPORT SECRETARY DE Howell has laid before I liament regulations which update the standards for fuelled vehicles and gas-ti appliances in vehicles,
According to the Departm, most vehicles now b ei converted to gas should be to meet the new requireme which are based on curr "good engineering practice".
All gas-filled vehicles put i service for the first time after vember 1982 will have to rr these new standards while th now on the roads or conver before that date can meet eit the present standards on new ones.
There are at present no regi tions covering gas appliance: vehicles.
The new Regulations inch rules to control the use of 51 appliances on the road in b motor vehicles and trailers will come into force early 1982.
They will govern the use such things as road burners tar boilers as well as applian used in caravans.
