According to the Departm, most vehicles now b ei converted to gas should be to meet the new requireme which are based on curr "good engineering practice".

All gas-filled vehicles put i service for the first time after vember 1982 will have to rr these new standards while th now on the roads or conver before that date can meet eit the present standards on new ones.
