DAIMLER-Benz has patented an anti-jack-knife coupling device for the centre coupling of rear-engined articulated buses — pusher buses.
Powered by 240bhp (177kW) engine driving the rearmost axle the pusher bus prototype has been in service in Hamburg for two years.
The vehicles will now be available for full-scale production from the Mannheim plant of Mercedes-Benz.
