PHASE ONE of the Leylanc investment programme is no beginning to show results says Truck and Bus managini director Des Pitcher.
In a letter to employees anc dealers Mr Pitcher says that, it the company can show continuing improvemeni along the lines which it is no going on, it will be in gooc shape to fight off foreign competition.
And the letter reveals thai the company has been given a Government go-ahead to build a new engineering test centre and test circuit at Moss Side Leyland.
The new facilities will guarantee the company's ability to design and develop as well as test vehicles to the highest standards, Mr Pitcher continues.
At Chorley, the parts division is due to submit detailed plans for extending its facilities with the use of modern system and computer techniques designed to ensure fast turnaround and forecasting.
