require hgv licences from the end of this month, if new regulations, now before Parliament, are adopted.
These are articulated combinations with a gvw not exceeding 7.5 tonnes (7.38 tons) and rigid vehicles not exceeding 3.5 tonnes (3.445 tons) when drawing a drawbar trailer when the gtw exceeds 7.5 tonnes.
The new regulations also remove the requirement for an hgv driving test candidate to produce his driving licences to an examiner.
