F°11R of the five members of• the committee which has been appointed by the British Transport Commission to report on the transport requirements of Glasgow and adjacent areas are railway men. Sir Robert Inglis. the chairman, is also a railway expert. Mr. Robert Beveridge, general manager of _Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., is the only authority on road transport. The other members are, Mr. 1. R. Fraser, Mr. F. A. Harper, Mr. A. F. Moss and Mr. H. R. Statham.
The committee will have regard to the future trend of commercial and residential development' in and around Glasgow, and to the planning proposals of the local authorities and the Clyde Valley Regional _Planning Advisory Committee. Recommendations will be made to the B.T.G. as to any improvement or. develOpmcnt that may be necessary. or desirable in services now controlled by the Commission or. by Glasgow Corporation.
