As CM went to press, the Unite union and six fuel haulage firms had reached agreement on a set of proposals about tanker driver safety, training and employment conditions. Unite is presenting the proposals to its members, which deliver fuel to 90% of the UK’s filling stations, and has been allowed a deadline extension for announcing any strike action while this takes place.
