• National Courier Network, (NCN), the London-based network of 135 courier firms which was launched on 9 April, is already planning to expand. General manager Mark Lunnon-Wood expects membership to reach well over 200 operators and NCN hopes to establish a Birmingham hub by the end of the year.
A northern hub may follow, and NCN has plans for an international service. It will also expand its existing network of more than 2,000 vans, backed up by cars and motorcycles.
