Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The first ERF to be fitted with the new Cummins BSeries engine (CM 12-18 April) has gone into service with industrial gas supplier Eng-Weld Energas of Hull.

The new ERF E6.210 offers greater torque at low revs than the E6.180. All Robinson, chairman of Eng-Weld Energas, says: "You can drop the revs down to 1,200-1,300 whereas with the 180 you can't go below 1,500, so you get that extra bit of power."

The new ERF E6.210 was fitted with a specially developed body built by L Stephenson, which is located next door to Eng-Weld Ener gas. The reinforced floor and Ratcliff tail-lift are used to carry heavy gas cylinders.

ERF says the ERF E6.210 will fill a niche in the market for operators of 17-tonners who want a six-cylinder engine which provides enough power for ocasional motorway work.

It will sit in the ERF range alongside the eight-cylinder Cummins C-Series-powered E8.211, which is designed for long-distance 17-tonne operations and drawbar work.

The first ERF E6.210 was supplied by Reliance Commercial Vehicles, through their Hull parts and service dealer Torridor Commercial Vehicles.
