• An American system for restraining palletised or stacked loads during transportation has been introduced into the UK by Acme Gerrard Ltd.
The system uses a 38cm wide band of reinforced industrial fibre which is attached with a special achesive to walls or bulkheads. The ends are then pulled across the face of the load to be restrained, tensioned and then finally joined together with the quick setting adhesive. When unloading, the band is easily peeled off, say the company.
Ty-Gard comes in 150m rolls and has a strength of 108kg per cm. It is suitable for securing most types of load including cartons or drums of potentially dangerous or high value chemicals, preventing load shifts during sudden braking, tilting, continuous vibration or rocking.
