MAINTENANCE HISTORY

• Another vehicle fleet management computer system has been launched.

Aimed at medium to large fleets, it is called Fleetpoint and is from Pinpoint Analysis of London SE1 (tel: 01-928 1874). It is a modular system that records costs and usage data, charging out costs to departments and keeping a service and maintenance history.

The information reports that can be produced by the system include vehicles due for MoT or servicing, exception reports based on fuel consumption or operating costs, and a vehicle charges report for allocating charges to various departments.

Fleetpoint is written in Fortran 77 and its designers say that it can run on most mainframes, mini and microcomputers with a minimum of changes. It is priced between £6,000 and £13,000, depending on the number of modules required.
