• Operators can now buy Scottish Office vehicles through British Car Auctions at Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The two-year contract involves a yearly entry of up to 500 vehicles, with an estimated 40 to 50 per cent of them being commercial vehicles. These include a wide range of vans and trucks, ambulances, prison service vehicles, and buses and coaches, BCA says.
Scottish Office vehicles were previously sold through the Fife and Kinross Auction Company.
RCA already sells vehicles for the Department of Environment in Scotland, Lothian and Strathclyde Regional Councils, for health boards ai the Scottish Postal Board.
