HINO importer HCV Motor Vehicle Distributors is plannii to import a new 38-tonne GCW 4 x 2 Hino tractive unit to the UK around November.
The new artic — designate the SH283 — will be powered by an 8.5-litre 209kW(280hp) turbocharged and chargecooled engine. The six-cylinder EP100 power unit will be fitted with an electronic varia ble-control fuel-injection system, and coupled to a ninespeed range-change manual gearbox.
Warrington-based HCV is planning to exhibit an EP100 engine and SH283 tractive un] at the Tipcon Show at Harrogate on May 16-18.
The 187kW(250hp) Hino 6x4 FS271 rigid chassis is ci rently undergoing UK type at proval, and a version of the tipper chassis is expected to be shown at the CMTE Annual Plant Exhibition at Haydock Park during the sam weekend as the Tipcon Show All British Hino models are currently assembled in IreIan( by Harris Commercials of Dul lin using completely-knockeddown kits sent from Hino in Japan.
In addition to its S11283 models, HCV also hopes to import a new lightweight sixwheel rigid in the near future along with a 16-tonne 4 x 2 chassis and a rear-steer 6x2 tractive unit.
