A Dealing first with initial allowance, this

was at the rate of 20 per cent from 1946 to 1949, then 40 per cent to 1952. For the year 1952/53 no allowance was made, after which the 20 per cent allowance was restored until April 15 1958, when it was increased to 30 per cent, which still continues to apply.

Throughout this period from 1946 to the present date the annual allowance has remained at 25 per cent. Investment allowances for new vehicles were discontinued from January 16 1966.
