• The Common Market countries are proposing to introduce in July 1969 a single transit document to cover all crossfrontier journeys by goods vehicles within the Community. From the beginning of 1970 the new document is to replace the TIR carnet.
A working party of the TIR committee of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) is to examine the draft proposals.
