I T was reported in the U.S.A. last week that Mr. I. J. Miller, chairman of the Cummins Engine Co., dolumbus, Indiana, stated in Chicago that his company intends to invade the medium-duty truck market with two new diesel engines that are about the same size and weight as petrol engines of equivalent power. Presumably these new engines are related to the over-square V units introduced last year, as 140 b.h.p. and 185 b.h.p. V-engines are to be marketed later this year, these to form part of a range of V, over-square' engines of from 100 to 1,200 b.h.p. It was revealed also that, under a licensing agreement with the Komatsu Manufacturing Co. Ltd., of Japan, Cummins diesel engineS are to be made in that country.

Army on Air ABRITTEN NORMAN CC-2 Cushioncraft has been supplied to the Army's Fighting Vehicles Research and Development Establishment at Chobham, Surrey. The 10-12-seat craft, which cost around £25,000, is to be put through military evaluation trials.
